The doctoral program in IT is for those who wish to be in the forefront of innovation in the field of information technology. The length of the program varies because it is based around the completion of a thesis, but someone who completes the program could earn around $93,000 a year.
Any organization that has a large computer database is going to need someone with the ability to repair and maintain the computer systems. Someone with an interest in innovation in IT could work as a researcher programmer, application developer, research assistant or software developer.
